About the Founder

A Nurse. An Educator. A Vascular Access Advocate.

Vascular Access Academy was created to provide bedside-focused education that is practical, clear, and relevant to the decisions nurses make during real clinical shifts.

Founded by Mark Anthony Torres, a vascular access–board-certified registered nurse with more than 20 years of experience in critical care, infusion therapy, vascular access, and clinical education, the Academy is grounded in real-world practice across diverse healthcare settings.

Its purpose is to help nurses strengthen clinical judgment, improve vascular access assessment, and approach device selection, insertion, troubleshooting, maintenance, documentation, and escalation with greater confidence. All resources are designed to complement current evidence, manufacturer guidance, organizational policy, and professional standards.
